Ministry Update: August 2025

New Life, New Roofs, and New Steps Forward

Hello Friends,

I just returned from a powerful week in Guatemala, and I couldn’t wait to share some of the amazing things we experienced! Our team represented several different states, but came together as one to serve, encourage, and witness firsthand the incredible work God is doing through Dare for More.

One of the highlights of the trip was spending Friday at our prenatal clinic. It’s hard to describe how special this ministry is. Each week, pregnant women from nearby villages come to receive an exam, vitamins, a protein drink, and supplies for their baby. If a mom comes every week, by the time she’s ready to give birth, she’ll have diapers, onesies, clothes, and much more to care for her little one. But more than that—each week includes a devotional, so these women walk away not just with physical help, but spiritual encouragement rooted in God’s Word.

This week’s devotional was shared by one of our team members—a labor and delivery nurse, which made the time even more meaningful. We also had a talented art teacher on our team who helped each woman design her own canvas bag. By the end of the morning, every mom left with a beautifully decorated bag full of baby essentials—and a heart full of hope.

Another special moment this week happened when a few of the guys on our team helped install a new roof for a woman we met a few weeks ago. Her roof had so many holes that rain poured directly onto her family as they slept on a dirt floor. She had been praying for plastic to cover the worst areas, but God had something better in mind—we gave her an entire new roof. Later this year, a team will return to help her improve her home even more.

We’re also making great progress on our tiny home property. One home is finished, and another is nearly complete. The gate is installed, and once we finish the outer wall, we’ll be ready to welcome our first families. Two women from our safe house are prepared to take this next step—transitioning out of crisis and into stability. This “step down” program is such an exciting part of the healing journey, and we can’t wait to see how God uses it to restore lives.

On the U.S. side, I’m excited to announce that we’ll soon be filming updated teaching videos for the Return to Me Bible study! Starting in August, I’ll be teaching live in Chattanooga each week with women from the local area joining us. Thanks to our friends at Calvary Baptist Church, who are partnering with us to host and film the sessions, we’ll be able to bring fresh video content to go along with the newly formatted written study. While the heart of the content remains the same, we’ve added some new material and made it even easier for groups to go deeper together.

As always, I want to say thank you—for your prayers, your support, and your belief in this mission. So much is happening, and we know it’s only because God is faithful and you continue to walk alongside us.

Please continue to pray for us as we ask God for great things. He is doing more than we can imagine, and we are honored to be a small part of it.

With gratitude,
Reba Bowman
