Ministry Update June 2025
Behind the Scenes: The Hands and Hearts Making a Difference
Hello Friends,
This month, we wanted to pull back the curtain and give you a glimpse of the people working behind the scenes—those who quietly and faithfully use their gifts to make ministry happen in powerful ways. At Dare for More, we know that it’s not just what happens in Guatemala that changes lives—it’s the whole network of people, here and abroad, who make this mission possible.
Let me introduce you to a few of our incredible volunteers: Ashley, Amanda, Liz, and Kristen.
Liz, Ashley and Amanda
Ashley, Amanda, and Liz have each been on multiple trips to Guatemala with Dare for More. Most recently, they spent time at our medical clinic, scrubbing, painting, and helping give the facility a fresh touch of care. While they were there, they noticed something—our exam beds were old, worn out, and, in places, literally being held together with duct tape.
That moment sparked a chain reaction.
Ashley and Amanda went back to North Carolina and immediately started reaching out to local hospitals to see if anyone might donate newer beds. And they didn’t just ask—they succeeded. Two beautiful, high-quality exam beds were donated for the clinic. But of course, getting them to Guatemala was the next challenge.
That’s where Liz came in. With a few contacts and a lot of determination, she rolled up her sleeves and took the lead on logistics. This week, we finalized the shipment, and we can’t wait to see those exam beds in place—blessing the thousands of women and children who will walk through our clinic doors.
Kristin with her team in Guatemala
Meanwhile, Kristen, who had previously traveled to Guatemala with us, returned home and couldn’t stop thinking about a conversation we’d had—how we needed a few dental chairs to help treat those with abscessed teeth. Not long after, she connected with a gentleman she knew who was retiring from his dental practice. When she mentioned the need, he generously offered to donate his entire office worth of dental equipment. Kristen coordinated the pickup and ensured everything was safely delivered to a storage location at one of our supporting churches. Now we’re preparing to ship that donation as well.
These women aren’t just helping us get things done. They’re living examples of what it means to be ambassadors for the mission. They’ve used their connections, time, energy, and faith to solve real problems and bring real solutions—and in doing so, they’re making life better for the women and children we serve.
We could not do this without people like them—or people like you. Every gift, every prayer, every moment you take to share our story or step in to help—it all matters. It all makes a difference. And it all brings hope.
Thank you for being part of the Dare for More family. We are so grateful for the way you step in, stand with us, and send us out.
With gratitude,
Reba Bowman
