Ministry Update May 2025
Hello Friends,
Spring has arrived, and with it comes a season full of life, energy, and new opportunities—and we are feeling that momentum here at Dare for More! As always, we’re so grateful for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. Here’s a look at what’s been happening and what’s just around the corner.
Medical Center’s New Sign
Medical Clinic Progress & Provision
Exciting updates continue at the Dare for More Medical Clinic! We’re still in the process of painting and putting the finishing touches on the inside rooms, and we recently added a bold new sign on the front of the building to officially introduce our presence to the surrounding villages.
God has been so faithful in providing for the clinic. A retiring dentist has generously donated dental chairs and equipment, Samaritan’s Purse gave us a sterilizer for our tools, and a hospital donated exam beds. These gifts are a huge answer to prayer and will allow us to expand the care we offer to the community—especially in the areas of general and dental health. Now our biggest challenge is transporting all of this equipment to Guatemala. Please pray with us as we navigate the logistics. We know God is already working out the details.

Staff Retreat: Rest & Renewal
We were recently blessed to host Allison Hale and her team from Mercy in the Dominican Republic for a special staff retreat in Guatemala. For several days, over 20 of our staff from the training centers, medical clinic, and safe house gathered for laughter, worship, and learning. We explored the topic of compassion fatigue and how to stay healthy while serving in emotionally and spiritually intense environments. The retreat left our team refreshed and renewed, and we’re so thankful for the gift of friendship.
Safe House Stories of Healing
Each month brings change in the safe house as new families arrive and others transition to freedom. Every story is different, but what stays the same is the deep need for healing—especially among the children. As they grow, they begin to process their trauma with greater understanding, often revisiting painful memories with new awareness. Please continue to pray that the peace of God would cover them, that their hearts and minds would be protected, and that the Holy Spirit would do what only He can: heal the deepest brokenness.
Coming Soon: New Devotional Release!
I’m so excited to share that my new devotional, Backstory, will release in May! It’s a 30-day journey through many of the Psalms, diving into the stories behind the songs. Knowing the “backstory” brings these ancient words to life and helps us connect them to our own journey in meaningful ways.
If you pre-order by May 23, you’ll receive fun bonus content and a beautiful handmade drawstring pouch made by the women we serve in Guatemala. It’s a wonderful way to invest in your own spiritual walk while supporting the women of DFM. [Click here to pre-order now.]
Mission Trips: Summer Is Almost Here!
We are gearing up for a full summer of mission trips in Guatemala! Every team that joins us has the opportunity to work on meaningful projects and engage at our safe house, medical clinic, and training centers. It’s an experience like no other—walking into what God is doing and becoming part of it. It’s life-changing, both for those who come and those we serve.
We’re already scheduling for 2026, so head over to the website to see how you or your group can be part of a future trip!
Speaking Opportunities
The past few months have taken me all over—from New Orleans to Connecticut, Memphis, Alabama, North Carolina, and beyond. I love sharing stories of hope and healing and inviting women to discover how God is at work in their own lives.
One woman recently told me, “You changed my whole perspective on life.” I knew what she meant—because it wasn’t really me. It was God speaking through His Word, showing her a new way forward.
There are still a few spots open in my fall schedule, and we are booking into 2026. If you’re planning a women’s event, I’d love to be part of it. Let’s encourage women together.
Thank You
Your support continues to fuel everything God is doing through Dare for More. Whether it’s welcoming new families into the safe house, launching a medical clinic, or sending teams into the field—you’re a vital part of this ministry. We’re grateful for you, we’re praying for you, and we’re excited to see what God continues to do in the months ahead.
With gratitude,
Reba Bowman
